37' Hershine Newburyport trawler

Hi, I am a new member of the forum who just recently bought a 1988 37' Hershine Newburyport trawler. My past experience has been with cruisers and houseboat so this type is not entirely new. I do have a question on the care of teak decks. I have been told that the best care is do nothing other than regular cleaning, is this in fact the best!

Hopefully, you had a survey and no soft spots were identified. Keep an eye on the caulking and also keep exposed screws covered with bungs. Be sure your fuel filler tube is well sealed.

Be prepared to replace the teak decks with non skid.
