Two P51 Mustangs joined together ...

Wow, 5000 miles range at 350 mph ...impressive!

Just shows that mongrels are often far better than purebreds ...lol.

"On 27 February 1947, P-82B 44-65168, named Betty Jo and flown by ColonelRobert E. Thacker, made history when it flew nonstop from Hawaii to New York without refueling, a distance of 5,051 mi (8,129 km) in 14 hr 32 min."

Impressive feat. 14 1/2 hours without stopping at a restroom!

The design is so counter intuitive; I'm wondering who sits in the second cockpit?

Why is the design so efficient in comparison to a single engined aircraft?

Ongoing project by a Dot Com rich guy is using 2 old 747's joined by a wing to lift a rocket 40-50,000 ft to get cheap space access.

Big bucks can have big dreams!
