TV is BAD

The friendliest place on the web for anyone who enjoys boating.
If you have answers, please help by responding to the unanswered posts.
Come on Donna, we know you own the station.Your boat is a probably a corporate write off to shelter all the millions. ;) Just tell your personal assistant you'll be out for a few days while you're researching another "write off" acquisition.

Ted

Lol! I’m pretty sure I would have at the very least a 75 footer with crew. Oh and I wouldn’t be getting dirty either! :nonono:

I use my 22 in HDTV for many functions. Broadcast TV and ER monitor are the 2 main purposes. Recently, I bought a ROKU stick that works great with the TV when WIFI is available. Last week, Richard of KK42 Dauntless fame enjoyed a Formula 1 race on ESPN2 from FlyWright in the slip. It was the first test of the new system and I was impressed for $60. Even comes with a voice remote!

If I had a smart TV, it would interface better with my devices. I'd consider an upgrade but I always seem to find higher priorities... like the new dink I bought today and Soundown carpet underlayment. I'm looking forward to both this summer!

I like "Downton Abby".
That Mary is a pistol.
At least Ethel finally got her just deserts.

A thread like this can drag Trawler Forum down to the level of Facebook and all of the slanted TV news programming. I understand why the thread should be deleted in order to maintain the integrity of the Forum. My opinion of course, for what its worth.

bad enough when it got started resurrected should be a keelhaulinh event... :)

The Internet ruined quality TV, you just can't get the porn you had on TV these days.

...if there is nothing I like on any of the 300 channels, I can turn it off.
Amazing how that works, isn't it?

I get a good laugh out of the folks who complain about what's on television. I guess they have some really unusual model that does NOT have an "off" switch!

Of course, most of the time they are not complaining about what THEY watch on television. They are complaining about what OTHER PEOPLE watch on television. So, basically, they want control over what sort of entertainment everyone else is allowed to enjoy. And for a really good laugh, these dictator-wannabes are quite often the same ones who accuse others of being fascist!

Inshore cruising , local TV is a delight.

It has great weather info for where you are , not a map of the USA .

The local news is great info as to what the locals are interested in ,

and some falls the local election TV adds are better than the comedy channel!

Almost any TV antenna will work for 25-30 miles , which is all one needs for great fun.

Our TV is BAD. It just quit working last night . It’s about 10 years old. I remember when you just carried them to the TV repair shop . I don’t think they exist anymore.

"I pulled psneeld and BandB off of my ignore list:

This is the std Left / Right divide.

The Right sez " Knowledge is Power,"

The Left sez ," Ignorance is Bliss"

There is no middle ground,

TV is good again. It was just a loose plug in..

I know that whether a TV works or doesn't work is not what this thread is about, but I just don't take TV seriously, unless it's not working.

A thought for folks replacing a TV.

Many sets today seem to be built to accept some sort of input so the over air tuners seem week.

The RV sets can accept a cable or other input , but mostly rely on an onboard antennas with a 12v booster.

Most also are easy to have search at a new location to select the local stations with a good signal.

Watching/hearing TV helps drown out my tinnitus. Also, science and history stories broaden my mind. Weather channel is also helpful. News channels help raise the blood pressure/circulation. Classical movies remind me that everyone associated has passed to the other side. Movies with Barbara Stanwyck remind me of my first unrequited love of an actual woman. :smitten:

My favorite TV is M*A*S*H, as I wait for the PC thought police to break into the program with news that all who are watching will be rounded up for re education.

Funny, I wouldn't taken you for a M*A*S*H man.
