talk about olives

I've noticed that green olives from cans are much milder in taste than green olives coming from a glass jar., closer to the taste of black olives. Thinking of buying from the can from now on. Haven't yet tested the difference in a Martini, however.

Find your favorite olives and stuff with a rolled anchovy. This makes a wonderful martini.

Where I live, some supermarkets have an "olive bar" where you have a choice of several different varieties of olives, sold by weight.

Of course you have to eat them within a few days, you can't store them like you can the ones in cans or jars.

In your case, I suspect the difference is in the type of olives and preparation, not the container they are sold in.

It might be that to package in cans they can't use any vinegar in the liquid as it would corrode the can. Or maybe they can only use low acid olives if there is such a thing.

Like beer, I would prefer glass.

I bought these olives but they are quite hard to schew and to digest.
