Greetings,
Happy Canada Day for those celebrating...eh?

Thank you RT, that would be me. I was going to add something like "On July 1st, eat a beaver for Canada" but then I thought it might be misconstrued as being too political and took it out.

O Canada! Our home and native land!
True patriot love in all thy sons command.
With glowing hearts we see thee rise,
The True North strong and free!
From far and wide, O Canada,
We stand on guard for thee.
God keep our land, glorious and free!
O Canada, we stand on guard for thee;
O Canada, we stand on guard for thee.
O Canada! Where pines and maples grow,
Great prairies spread and Lordly rivers flow!
How dear to us thy broad domain,
From East to Western sea!
The land of hope for all who toil,
The true North strong and free!
God keep our land, glorious and free.
O Canada, we stand on guard for thee!
O Canada, we stand on guard for thee!
O Canada! Beneath thy shining skies,
May Stalwart sons, and gentle maidens rise.
To keep thee steadfast thro' the years,
From East to Western sea.
Our own beloved native land,
Our true North strong and free!
God keep our land, glorious and free.
O Canada, we stand on guard for thee!
O Canada, we stand on guard for thee!
Ruler supreme, who hearest humble prayer,
Hold our Dominion, in thy loving care.
Help us to find, O God, in thee,
A lasting rich reward.
As waiting for the better day,
We ever stand on guard.
God keep our land, glorious and free.
O Canada, we stand on guard for thee!
O Canada, we stand on guard for thee!

Enjoying our time here. Day 92 and still going strong, 1555 NM so far!

Cheers Pairadice!

Glad to hear you're still having fun...oh...and by the way...MK Bay Marina started putting in the south breakwater a couple days ago :thumb: (We'll see if it survives the winter).

We've been up in the Maritimes since the 20th.. Grand Manan, Digby Neck, Lunenburg area, last couple of days Cape Breton. Have had mostly gorgeous weather, including today.

Off to Newfoundland and Labrador via the overnight ferry this evening, for a week or so of hiking and iceberg hunting.. first time up there. Always scouting coves and harbors for the bucket-list cruise we'd love to complete some day.

People are pretty patriotic in these parts, lots of Maple Leaf flags flown where we've been. They actually close the grocery and most other stores today, we went to stock up for our camping trip last night and the big markets were jammed and had been picked clean. Reminds me of the old days in the US where Memorial Day and the 4th were real holidays.

Hey!
It's our day and we should be able to whoop it up.
Political or not.

We went out to the beautifully done Fortress of Louisburg historic site today. Since it was Canada Day admission was free, vs about $15 US usually. Very impressed about all the visitors wearing Canada tee shirts and a variety of other Canada regalia of all sorts. Way more than you'll see in the USA on Monday. Very cool.

"Fortress of Louisburg historic site today"

One impressive sight was 2 kids in costume that kept room heat going with just 2 logs with the ends facing each other and glowing like a cigarette.

You know that took some skill to get the right room temperature, and not go out.
