Kiwi Alert?

Greetings,
How close are our members from NZ to White Island in the Bay of Plenty?

Or is this just a smoke screen?

RT I don't know of anyone on the forum who is based in Tauranga or the Mount Maunganui Cities, who are on the Bay of Plenty coast near White island, but it was a favourite haunt of mine yrs ago when my parents lived there for a time. Very beautiful part of the world. I hope a large eruption does not occur, but think it unlikely, as it vents small ones so frequently it sort of lets the pressure down, as it were.
