From time to time a discussion thread pops up about interesting/favourite books people have read.
I have just come across a beauty about flying, and as I know some of the TF forum members are pilots I thought it might be fun to see who else has read some good aviation books.
My current favourite is a book called 'Fate is the Hunter' by Ernest Gann. I found it in an old second hand book shop a while back. It's a terrific autobiography based on the early days of commercial flying in America, prior to and during WW2.
Ernest Gann certainly lived an interesting life & survived by 'the skin of his teeth' on a few occasions. It's a fascinating time capsule of a pioneering era long gone.
Definitely worth tracking down.
