For people in the northern hemisphere...Happy Winter Solstice!!!!

Tomorrow marks the new year for me because the days start getting longer, the sun climbs higher every day, and the promise of springs warmth is on the horizon. The Earth, our one and only home in the vastness of the Universe, has journeyed once again around the Sun and now starts carrying us towards the warmer days of summer.

This is my one special day all year because it is Nature based, independent of multitheistic, monotheistic, or nontheistic world views. It is also independent of an arbitrarily decreed day for the new year to start imposed by some long forgotten conquerer.

Enjoy :flowers:

And the wheel turns as it has always done.

Yee Haw! Tomorrow a gain of 2 minutes.....

Every little bit counts!

Where we live isn't too far north in the scheme of things, but our nights are 16 hours long and gravel casts a long shadow at noon.

I had a job in the local newspaper darkroom for a while. It sucked. I went to work in the dark, worked in the dark all day, then went home in the dark after work
