HopCar (Parks) was there today with good seats. We’re waiting for the full report. A pretty cool day for sure.

It was a magnificent launch. After sitting in the Sun for six hours and several delays it went off perfectly. Big Flame! Similar to the Shuttle. And the boosters came home! That was truly amazing.

We heard that the boosters had separated and we waited straining to see them. Then it happened, two fires high in the sky. Then I lost them until the fires appeared down low to the horizon. They dropped below a line of trees. Then Boom Boom, two sonic booms and huge engine sound hit several seconds after they were down.

I want to see this thing go at night!

They needed a test payload and Musk has a great sense of humor. That was his personal Tesla. It will go into an eliptical orbit that will carry it as far out as Mars.

Normally they would just use a chunk of concrete as the test load.

I heard the center rocket first stage had an engine or two fail to light to stop its descent. So hit the barge or hit the water near the barge at like 300mph. But the two side boosters made a good landing. Still a profound success. Recovering the first stages (two out of three) is just icing on the cake.

There is a dummy in a space suit in the drivers seat of the car. I think there is a stuffed dog in the passenger seat, but could not tell for sure on the video. GF and I watched the streamed launch, and she noticed the dog. It cracked her up big time!!

And the info center on the dash states in big letters "Don't Panic". Guy does have a sense of humor!! And gets sh!t done!!
