Cargo ship turned Yacht

This Burly Cargo Ship Is Getting Made Over Into a $62 Million Yacht

I'd like to have more pics and info about the conversion.Seems like a comfortable boat to travel the northern route from east coast US to west coast.

Interesting but I'm not sure about the ride in big seas. For guests, the forward accommodations might cause a little sea sickness.

one can't help but imagine this yacht would cost a fortune to operate, while also contributing a non-trivial amount of additional pollution to*the shipping world's already considerable carbon footprint

As yachts go, $62mil is not that much money.

It's a supply vessel. Looks like a new-build though, not a conversion. Although it's possible that Damen had a canceled order.

I say let the owner spend his money anyway he likes. At least $55 million will be going into he local economy, paying workers' salaries, sending their kids to school, supporting third world countries who harvest and export exotic hardwoods, etc.

Win-win situation for all.
