Greetings,
Mr. cj. Wasn't there some problem in the same area last fall which necessitated an ICW shutdown for a period of time?

You are correct. They had a valve fail, one of 8 that controls water flow in and out of the lock. They temporarily block the inlet off with steel plates. the old valve was removed today to be used as a patten to fabricate the new one.

Greetings,
Mr. cj. Thanks for the memory refresh. Yup, all of the southbound snowbirds I spoke to at the time had transited the Great Dismal Swamp rather than the Coinjock route. Some weren't too impressed particularly the deeper draft power boats. A few "bumps" here and there.
