Congratulations to the Giants

First time since 1954, and first World Series Championship since coming to California in 1958!

Congratulations to the San Francisco Giants! *Growing up in San Francisco, watching Mays, McCovey, Cepeda, Marichel and the rest, I've been waiting a LONG time!!

RE: Congratulations to the Giants

I grew up in the Bay Area during that era (late 50s thru late 60s). Though I was a Dodger fan, I went to many games in The Stick as a kid. It has indeed been a long time coming.

I was even at the game when Marichal attacked John Rosboro of the Dodgers with a bat. That was a bit troubling to see for an adolescent.

There was a World Series this year?*

Just a little East Coast bias.

Yip, BL, there was indeed a World Series. *And come to think of it, *every east coast team and I have a lot in common. *

We all got to watch it on TV!

In game 4, Bumgarner (21 year old) was the youngest pitcher to start a World Series since 1981 and he joined with Posey to be the first rookie pitcher/catcher team in the WS since 1947!

So yip, there really was a great series. And that takes nothing from Texas, as their franchise had never been to a WS. *They did remarkably well themselves!

Okay, I'm through gloating over the Giants. *We won't talk about the Niners!

RE: Congratulations to the Giants

I'm not a huge baseball fan, but I so enjoyed this year's World Series, and I was rooting for the GIANTS every step of the way. Ya gotta love that little Tim Lincecum, no more looks like a ballplayer/pitcher than I do and so young. Black Beard Wilson may get most of the praise, but that Tim was really something.

Heh, heh, heh, it does rather illustrate why the rest of the world feels sometimes, (mistakenly I'm sure), that the US has a bit of a superiority complex......
