We drove over to SSH for a few days last weekend and also ran down to Surfside Beach and ate a wonderful meal at the Red Snapper. We may be moving the Patricia LouiseII in the future-any ideas about a convenient way to access the restaurant and beach if we take our trawler own the GIWW?

Is the Red Snapper ON the water? Beach access may be tough. Are you plnning on keeping her at Bridge Harbor? It would still require you to go over that bridge if you are in something other than a car. You could go down to the San Bernard River and Anchor South of the GIWW and then dinghy to the beach. This has been done but we did have a visitor in our dinghy that we discovered at 20mph....a snake!!!! Mama Turned white!!!!

John,
The Red Snapper is a few hundred yards from the Gulf beach. I guess I thought there might be a marina that offered transportation near the bridge on the ICW. Running a dinghy all the way around to the beach could be a possibility. The SO and I really enjoyed this small restaurant and hope to get back.

Call the restaurant and tell them you're at Bridge Harbor (if that's where you're at). They may send a car for you. Another restaurant in the area (can't remember the name) does that for maybe a couple of bucks each way for gas money. Or ask the marina if they can recommend a way to get there. No water access that I'm aware of.

Oh yea, my avatar is Anastasia III at Bridge Harbor in Freeport. Too bad they don't have a restaurant there any more.

Also, the edit function seems to be working again. Maybe it doesn't work after a certain period of time?

Good idea- Hope the SSH wine festival goes well. If we had time we would shoot back over to take it in. Chuck (Dr. Strain/ pier 2) says it is quite an event.
