Finally

Thanks. Are your engines on a boat similar to the OA Classico?

Gordon

Look in my signature at the bottom. Carver 356. Planing hull. And that is the way I run the boat.

Last winter we ran from MA to north FL and halfway back on a 1994 Classico 423 with twin cat 3208 naturals 210 up. At 8 knots we averaged 2 nmpg running gender about half the time. Ymmv, get in touch with an engine surveyor for more info on these engines. Boatdiesel.com also an excellent resource. Best of luck.....it's a great boat.

make sure the raw water is pumped through the free wheeling shaft so you don't run the packing and cutless bearing dry.
