Because they think differently why they are anchored and how the ship versus a boat is run.


Look at most boats and ask their captains about anchoring...maybe you shouldn't be amazed.

One thing to remember if using a nylon anchor line is the few ft of chain installed on most anchors does not have to fit the windlass .

A couple of ft of 1/2 or 5/8 that stops short of the windlass will provide excellent chafe protection and perhaps help get a quick set.
