My son who had just completed his master 5 and me2 is helping relocate a Clipper 40 from Hobart to the Gold Coast. Crossed the paddock in ease only to be confronted with seized salt water pump bearing at 3 am. Some clever work using a plastic water bottle, tape and the deck wash pump gave them enough flow to limp back to Bermagui.

Looks like they learn plenty at AMC!

My son who is now back in Airlie said the deck wash pump only allowed them 3/4 knots as the water volume was too low to cool the engine above that. Still better than having to call for help in the middle of the night and lucky weather was good.

I appreciate innovation, creative thinking and problem solving. Excellent work!

That's wonderful. Very clever.
