Sounds like about 3000 litres or bang on 1nmpg. Not bad for a 50 tonne boat. Also nice to have those Naiads.

A nice trip. Great to see some photos when you get a chance.

Hi Benn
Most of your concerns appear to have been answered. I have transited Bass Strait a couple of times. Depending on weather, you can anchor behind Royden Island (NW Flinders) also a superb all weather anchorage at Kangaroo Bay on the N of Clarke Island.
I keep my boat at Kettering, 2.5 hours (Boating) S of Hobart, but there is a very good inexpensive marina at Prince of Wales Bay N of Tasman bridge (45 min N of Hobart by boat).
I have also been to Pt Davey % times if you want info.
Holler if you need more

Tony,
Thanks for the extra info.
I don't know if we will get to Port Davey but I know I would like to go.
Hope we can catch up if & when I get down there.

Cheers
Benn

At last, flying back up to Mackay on Sunday and back on the boat.
Hope to be out and about by Tuesday after doing a bit of storing up.
BOM site showing pretty good weather.
Will spend a couple of weeks in the Whits and then meander down to the Gold Coast City Marina.
Leave the boat there for a month or so whilst I go back to work.
In that time will have a quick haul out and antifoul and extend the stabiliser arms by about 4 feet.
In October start the trip south.
That's the game plan.
Hope to do some updates over the next few weeks.

Cheers
Benn

Ahhh, - Always nice to be flying home after a long hitch at work. Even better with a bit of adventure to look forward to. Enjoy!
I'm on the opposite end of it. First day back at work. 4 weeks to go and counting.

The weather should be turning good by the time you get down south. It's been shocking in SA the past month. 20 - 40 knot winds most days. Finally settled down just as I came back to work.

AusCan,
I am in the middle of being home. Been to busy to get away on the boat doing family stuff.
My situation has changed and I now have a job share so do 4 weeks on and 12 weeks off.
All is good with the world.
Still doesn't change the fact that I will go back to work on the 24 th dec for 4 weeks.
Cheers
