Blue Sea has a couple of useful pages about ampacity, breaker size and conductor size. Last I looked they were free on their site.

If one is going to err with wiring , there is little down side to larger sizing .

Bigger will cost more , and weigh more , usually not a trawler problem.

Use the 3% voltage drop table not the 10% table.
