Updating chartplotter

Ahoy,
Just purchased used 04 Grady White 330 Express. The previous owner did the Great Loop with her a few years back and she's been basically in dry stack for the past few years used very lightly. I'm not sure the last time her Garmin chip was last updated. I'm looking at the Navionics web site and wanted to know if anyone has any experience with them or how the best way to update charts?

Garmin charts are proprietary, you can't load any other charts into they're machines other then their proprietary charts.

Yeah....Some of the older units no longer have Cards available. They've changed format. My 2004 vintage GPSmap 210 took the old G-Chip. Finding the one you need is like looking for a needle in a haystack. Ended up updating both my plotters to the New Gen stuff with the G2 Vision card
