i just bought a older raymarine st40 speed and st40 depth to change
out with my older datamarine speed and depth. looks like i can use
the cables that are there as all works well. how do you remove the
round datamarine units ? looks difficult.

There are 3 small allen-head setscrews around the outside of the retaining ring that sandwiches the display to the bulkhead. I'm not sure what you mean by using the same cables but you need to be sure of the compatibility of the raymarine displays with with your datamarine transducers. I'm pretty sure they aren't going to be.

thanks for that info..i called data and asked if their old corinthian depth used 200khz and they said yes so that is compatable with the sd40 depth ...as for the speed, i think they are all the same, a simple spinning wheel and cable to unit. hope so....

With gps the spinning wheel speed instrument is useless.
