I am adding a Furuno TZT2 mfd to my setup and was wondering if anyone has done a surface mount transducer as a depth sounder (epoxied to the inside of the hull)? I have a brand new Furuno fish finder as well but it has its own display and I was thinking that for anchor watch what I really want is a transducer in the very stern of the boat and more than 100ft range doesn't really matter.
The catch is I have a cored hull so I'm not sure how it would work.

Has anything had any success with a similar setup and if so do you have transducer recommendations?

Thanks!
Arthur

If you want it aft and aren't relying on it underway you might consider a transom mount. Generally very easy to attach a mount and run the cable from a small hole above the waterline.
