I have a Raymarine ST6001+ autopilot system. The display on the ST600R is gone, almost blank. I can barely read the display. Looking at the Raymarine website they say the Raymarine S100 wireless remote is compatible with my older system. Has anyone tried switching to the wireless remotes? I see 2 listed; the S100 and the Raymarine autopilot smart controller.

What do you need to buy to connect to the older wired system?

Thanks
Marc

I bought the wireless when my head unit lost backlighting and I needed something for the flybridge.

You get the wireless interface with the remote and just connect all. The remote works despite the blank head unit.

Works great but you only get limited display info.

I found my remote on ebay for $200, much better than a new head and I now have control anyplace on the boat.

I have a wired ST 6002 and the S100 works perfectly. Check into backwards compatibility.
