Cool garmin autopilot overtemp warning

Have a garmin autopilot that is giving ecu overtemp, shutdown in 60 sec. This is occurring after pilot did a violent 180 degree turn. Kinda scary, glad I was in open water. Any ideas.

Have you contacted Garmin? Contact the service dept. That should be first.

Mfgrs. often have troubleshooting guides.

That would be a programmed error code so they likely have a pretty good idea what to look at.

The rest of us are guessing unless someone else has been through the same thing.
