Cool, I appreciate the intel. I measured what I need and it's just shy of 18' so was curious. I see it comes in 16' lengths. I'd like one connection and all operating as one rather than two separates. Thanks for the vid.

Thanks! Remember there's no true white, it's a kinda white mixed with red blue and green which gives the illusion of white. But you could always buy just white led strip.

I'm not concerned with current draw, as much as I am with more light in the salon. Went to halogens it did not help much. To change all the fixtures would be far too expensive a deal. Two 20 watt incandescents per fixture is not enough light.

Do you have a picture of your salon? If I had a pic, it could give me an idea and maybe find you a solution.

Going to the boat tomorrow for New Year's at a yacht club. I will take photos of the salon lighting and post them. Thank you for your interest in my problem.

I put four of these on two facing aft and two facing down and think they're great. Paid under $80 per with my Port Supply! Soundwiz is doing the same on his Pacemaker soon.

Salon and galley lighting. The fixtures have halogen lamps. The one fixture over the TV has one LED lamp which just about tells you it is on. I installed 16 feet of LED strip lighting to replace three florescent fixtures in the galley(tired of changing lamps.)

Ok, I have an idea. Your salon looks like it has a over hang, what if you put 5050 300 SMD LED strip light behind the overhangs. Just an idea the 5050 strip is pretty bright, and cheap too. Heres a link:Amazon.com: SUPERNIGHT (TM) Cool White 5M / 16.4FT 5050 SMD Flexible LED Strip Lights 300 leds or 60led/m LED Light: Everything Else

Are you using the 110 v system or the 12 volt, if the 12, what did you do for a power supply?

The strip is 12v along with the remote if your using RGB. They have transformers if you want to run using 110v.

Hi Daddyo,
My stern of the boat is about 17 feet, do you think 4 spots are sufficient? or put 6?

I'd go with 6, but you could get away with 4. Also I believe you'll get better light if you put them on the transom as the light will face aft through the water.

By flaps do you mean trim tabs? You'd be better off putting them above them if that's what your talking about. I would connect them all using a buss bar and there own separate breaker(see pics), I wouldn't connect them to your running lights.

Now you need to change the port and starboard nav lights . The DR LED lights are great you can see them through the fog. But you have to get the red led for the port side ,white will not work unless you like pink!!!!
