This is the second question about my house battery set up:

2. I have 8 six-volt batteries in my house set up. There are six in one box and two in another. Presently, the temperature monitor is the six-battery box. But I notice that the batteries in my two-battery box consistently use more water. So my guess is that for some reason, these are charging at a slightly higher rate.

It seems like I should re-position the temperature sensor from the six-battery box to the two-battery box? suggestions appreciated.

How are the batteries connected to the house circuit and charger? Are the positive and negative terminals feeding the circuit from opposite ends of the chain? This ensures that all the batteries get discharged and charged equally. The negative and positive feeds should not be from the same battery. Calder has a good discussion in his mechanical/electrical book.
