Greetings:
I have purchased in Panama a NX40 GPS/Chart/Depth which I planned to install on the flybridge of my upcoming self made 46 Trawler. The price was the driver for this acquisition as I have to manage my tight budget. The idea, after consulting the sales guy, was to connect the NX40 to a NX45 in the saloon main command center. Now, I have been told by some NX users that both NX40 and NX45 are stand alone systems, The Simrad representative in Brazil relied that he does not know if I can integrate a NX40 with a NX45 sharing the same sensors, (depth/gps antenna/radar/autopilot). He was to consult the issue with Simrad headquarters and he hasnt come back to me in 3 months. I also tried to call Simrad on the 1-800 number but I havent been lucky.
Does any one of the experienced guys out there know if this can be done? The idea is to have the NX45 system in the saloon and use the NX40 as a repeater in the fly.
