Furuno GP33

I just have acquired this equipment to connect via NMEA 183,

1.- Which is your experience?
2.- Do you need to order the extra cable for this connection or is possible to connect to the free wires of the dc connector?

thanks

Alberto: I recommend you visit furunousaforum.com & post your specific question there, after reviewing the Q's & A's already posted about the GP33.

Alberto I have no experience with this model but a quick search of the Furuno site says:
GP33 comes standard with NMEA2000 Cable. Part # 000-156-405 - NMEA0183 Cable - is required option for NMEA0183 data connection.

Hope this helps, I have two Furuno GP32 and they have been wonderful.

Because NMEA 0183 is old technology, and the GP-33 was mainly made for Nmea 2000. Although it's smaller brother the GP-32 only supported 0183.
