Flickering 110V Lights

Have a friends boat that when on gen. power all 110v lights flicker. Any ideas?

What kind of lights and has anyone checked the output specs on the genset yet? Maybe the governor needs an adjustment.

Post the brand/model of gennie. Also listen to it, if engine rpm goes up and down in sync with lights flickering, that's governor. If engine sounds rock steady and lights still flicker, that's volt reg or similar.
