Combination antennae: A good idea???

I'm looking at a Digital 634 antennae that combines AM/FM and cell into a single 8' stick. Is this a good idea or a hack?

I now see that they are on closeout at Defender Marine and I wonder if that is a bad omen. Does anyone know anything about these?
