Simrad AP 16 display unit

Polling the TF to see if any of you have had the display on your auto Pilot 16 go bad? Most of the display is partial or no charecters. Were you able to get it fixed? Have any of you taken one apart?

I ran across this site a few years ago while trying to get a prehistoric Lowrance depth finder repeater repaired, didn't use them because I found a new old stock unit.
