battery Selector Switches

My wiring on my boat is a nightmare. I am trying to verify stuff but I cant find any wiring diagrams/schematics on how to wire two 4 way Selector Switches to two starting batteries with two engines. the switches are Perco - the kind with.... 1 - All - 2 - OFF.

I've been looking for information on this topic as well.

Perko instructions for one of their switches;

Perko PDF; http://www.perko.com/images/catalog/...(8500INS1).pdf

One switch...two battery banks; PERKO Inc.

Perko's line of battery switches; PERKO Inc.

Suggestion for anyone who runs a boat: Use a multi-meter frequently. Bay Pelican must have four or five different types of battery switches. Whenever I rewire or install I use the continuity function of my multi-meter to determine which settings / posts are hot when the switch is turned.

IF the switch can disconnect the alt from the battery ,

ONLY purchase a rotary switch that has the 2 field disconnect terminals on the back. AND use them!

This is a break , before break , system where the field will be cut off before the battery is disconnected.

This keeps the alt from blowing diodes when the batt is suddenly removed from the circuit.
