Hello All,
Just got back from a two week shakedown cruise in St. Raphael, France. My cousin bought a Super Marmu and needed crew! How could I refuse?
The Autohelm 7000 worked fine during the survey and again when the broker took us out for an instructional cruise. When we went out the next day it worked for an hour or so then kept blinking in and out.
Checked all connections which were good. A seatalk wire goes from the computer to a GPS that does not work but had to be turned (don't ask me why) on.
The next day the non working GPS would not turn. The Auto pilot would come on but would not come out of standby. The rudder indicator works fine. Tried disconnecting the seatalk from the bad GPS, no change.
My brother, a highly qualified marine electrition in Maine and I texted back and fourth to no avail. He suspects a seatalk issue.
Any and all suggestions are welcome. Suspect the 20 years of use have taken their toll.
Thanks,
Rob
