I have a Simrad ap22 auto pilot with control heads on the flybridge and another at the lower station down below. The flybridge control head is suddenly not working but the lower unit works fine. Can I swap the units and move the working one up to the flybridge? Any advice will be appreciated.

Yes, you can move the good one up to the fly bridge, but whether it will work or not depends on if it is a wiring problem. The one time I worked on a Simrad AP22 on a buddy's boat, the problem was wiring.

Hmmm, are these set up as a master and slave?

If you move the non working one to the master spot then the slave will not work either.

However the good news is that you can actually do this and try it out with no ill effects.
