Can someone please tell me if Anchor wire (west marine) is safe for a 120v AC circuit? I want to install a #6 for the hot and neutral to my new NL genny. WM catalog chart show amp ratings for wire but at 12v DC. I'm afraid to install it without knowing if it is also rated for AC.

ancor wire will carry 110 or 12v but I suggest you talk to a professional. The wire needs to be sized appropriately for the load and the 12v wire sizing chart will not be correct for 110v

believe its rated to 600V.... just use the appropriate gauge for your project.

6 ga is used for 50A / 50 foot shore power cords.

6 gauge wire is good for up to 120 amps when used on 120v AC, out side the engine room and 102 amps inside the engine room, as long as the wire is not bundled with other wires. This is assuming you are using Ancor 105c rated wire.

As it gets bundled with other wires it’s amp capacity must be reduced.
