Has anyone had experience with AIS receivers? I am curious how well the single channel receivers work compared to the dual channel receiver?

Re: Ais

Works for us. Have had a single channel receiver for several years now. About the only drawback I can see is that it takes awhile for all the info to download. If you're a go fast boat you might appreciate a dual channel rcvr but at our 7.5k we usually get all the info before we even see the vessel. Just be aware that sometimes the info posted by the transmitee is suspect. Have seen widely erroneous info like headings 150 degrees off, tied up at the dock when underway, and other similar stuff.
