Our DeFever 41 cruises easily at 6.3 knots (7.3MPH) and consistently burns 1.8 GPH over 25K miles! Don't exceed hull speed, even with your fast trawler (technically, a PR dream designation), and you should experience similar results. Once you go above hull speed in any boat, break out the credit card!

Actually just a single knot below "theoretical hull speed" makes a fine LRC long range cruise speed and may save 50% of the hull speed fuel burn.

Making waves is very energy costly.
