That's what I'm talking about! I miss Kent Narrows and the Magothy and their waterside pubs. Can't beat that. Have to cruise Sand Castle up that way again. NC is not quite there yet but creeping forward.

Skinny Dippin' cruises the NC coast. We move home port every now and then. On the Neuse River we cruise to Morehead City, Beaufort, Lookout, and many quiet anchorages like South River and Club Foot Creek. From Carolina Beach we cruised to Wrightsville Beach, Bald Head, Waccamaw River, to Georgetown and back. For now, we still work, so our boating is limited to weekends and week long vacations. Someday, we will Loop and make the Bahamas!!

Here's a couple more....we have beautiful cruising grounds, doesn't matter if you prefer to anchor or to marina hop.

Second time out and about on our 'new to us' boat

Went for a 2.5 hour spin down Douglas Channel, from Kitimat to Gobeil Island and back.

Upper Mississippi River, Hannibal, Missouri is a favorite day trip, 27 miles & 1 lock. A nice old riverfront town within a short walk from the marina. Louisiana, Missouri is across the river from our home marina we'll take the 17' logic marine over to the city dock & go to the farmers market & to a cafe for breakfast.

clubs are us

In the Lake Erie, St Clair and Detroit River , you really have to join a private boat club as there are dozens and dozens of others where you get reciprocal treatment. Here is a great one at Elba Mar. Good food, cheap adult beverages and great folks

California Delta and San Francisco Bay

Pretty boring boating in the Bay and Delta...nowhere to go, nothing to do and no one to do it with. But I'll survive!!

It is a bit embarrassing to be passed by a sailboat, my dad rags on me every time that happens. But then again, he thinks it's cool when his buddies buzz and wake sailboats with their fast powerboats. There's not much nautical courtesy in that group of old timers.

Happen's to us very regularly at 6.15 knots. Most 40' sailboats go right on by us due to a longer water line length.

There's no shame in being passed by a world class America's Cup racer. I kind of liked the novelty of it all.

I was heading up river last year & ran up a slough to keep from getting passed by a tow. In my defense it only had 6 barges.

This tow looks more awesome/scary (more difficult to control) compared to barges tied together.
