*Sorry if I offended you, Mark.** However, I don't think you fit my definition of a northern guy. *

*Understood, Elwin. *Maybe Tim and I will keep our beaches just for Southern Boys and Girls. *Here is a picture of the water at the Great Sale Cay anchorage. *It is about 100 miles from Florida and 50 miles from any populated island.

Hope this doesn't upset anybody.

Elwin, after seeing your bevy of beauties, it is not hard to see why you are so enamored with the North. *My goodness, anyone of those girls could make a complete bevy.

Our Southern Gals have been struggling to subsist on a diet of spiney lobster, conch, grouper and umbrella drnks. *They deserve better than that, but food is scarce down here. *Short growing season, you know.

This one is in the harbor at Treasure Cay. *It is rated as one of the most beautiful beaches in the world.

Here is a video of some of our under nourished girls working for food.

Marin, Tim and I have decided to just keep it for us southern guys. *So, it shouldn't be a problem for you. *You can put your sun screen away.

Oh, I threw all that out*decades ago when I finally managed to escape that climatic wateland sometimes referred to as "Hawaii."* While I enjoy the occasional sunny day here in the PNW they serve mostly to remind me of how boring sunny days are and to appreciate our more typical weather.* I'll take rain, snow, sleet,*cold and overcast any day over sun and heat.* The only thing I don't care for is wind, at least when we're wanting to go boating or flying.* Otherwise wind is good, too.

I love weather and the dynamics it brings.* It makes me feel alive.* Hawaii (and places like it) don't have weather, and being there is like being stuck in the movie "Groundhog Day."* All they have is a life-size poster of blue sky and white clouds stapled to the sky.* It was one of the main motivators for my getting out.

Marin,*

I loved DanDeigo. It was like early summer all year long. But when it rained I'd drive around w the windows rolled down and listened to the hissing of the tires and breath in the moist air. I thought last "summer" may have moderated your position on geography a bit. But you're right * ...the're ai'nt no better place and to show my convictions we're close to closing on a house just west of Concrete. Will prolly have Willy at LaConner. I could bump into you some day!!!

Our boat spent its whole life in San Francisco Bay until we bought it and brought it north. It is so happy to be in non-boring waters now that it refuses to go south of Anacortes for fear we might be taking it*back to California.* So if we venture south of the channel into Cap Sante marina*both engines stop and won't restart until we get the bow swung around into the north half of the compas card.* So I doubt we'll ever*see you in La Conner.

RE: For the northern guys

LaConner's a fun place. Could be your loss. We go north to the Albineer gatherings in BC and now occasionally south of the border so be on the lookout for Willy from Alaska as she is not limited geographically within the bounds of NW waters. Actually I'm looking fwd to cruising the south sound. Why limit yourself Marin? One's boat and the world in general is limiting enough.
