We are getting alot of rain and wind the tide is up about 4ft. We've had a few tornados touch down. They say 7 to 10 ft for waves. There's reports of water spouts. I'm tied up in Dunedin fl near Clearwater

Dave,
That looks no fun at all. Be safe and hey you said you wanted the boat cleaned up:)

Looks like your going through the worst of it right now.

I'm watching the Tampa Bay news feed.

They say Andrew has left and is going to see the folks on the east coast. Winds are still gusting in the forties here tho.

Two anchors? That's for wimps, I've always been a one anchor man:flowers:

I left Dunedin Fl near Clearwater at 4:30 am on Wednesday . I figured 120 to 150 miles. I had a beautiful sunrise. It didn't take long and I was out of range for cell signal. The water was as nice as the keys a beautiful blue. I figured I might as well throw in some lures and see if I could catch dinner. Wow I caught and released probably 10 tuna I was taking to much time so I kept the last one and hung the rod up. It was a real long trip without autopilot I couldn't go as fast as I wished it was getting warm in the engine room. I need to pull my heat exchangers I'm good as long as I don't push to hard. All in all it was a good day, other then the fact I'm crewless.

The little white spot is the moon. As the sun went down the waves came up. I'm getting really tired. Between reelin in the fish and not having my autopilot The waves are1 to 2 with an occasional 3 It looks like ill be doing some night traveling and that moon isn't going to help much.

Well it got black and a little ruff. I was so tired I was temped to just shut her down and take a nap. I ended up putting my port engine at idle and creaping in at 4kts man that last thirty miles. It ended up being 180nm. I don't know probably cause I was zig zaggin a little. I got behind dog island at 5:30 am. I took a little nap then took some rad hoses off flushed a few things and changed the fuel filter to. Then I put in the dive gear and cleaned the bottom. That hoka dive gear has paid for itself a few times.

I moved to Carabel a marina called Captains Quarters. Awesome place $1 a ft. I got a trans cooler and I think I'll be good til I can pull my heat exchangers and get them dipped at a rad shop.

Guess it'll be rivers and small lakes fur a while. The pan handle of Fl. Should be Ga. You'd never know you were in Fl. I was watching the shore for the gators and turtles and almost hit a log. It's a little harder to go below to go potty or get a sandwich now. If she drifts a little I'm on the hard.

I don't know if you'd call um crackers or Cajun or what but man I can kinda get what their saying in the morning. But in the evening after a few ya gotta have an interpreter

Just caught your thread - Great pics, keep 'em coming!

Another little tid bit I'd never heard before "keep red on your right from Fl. To Texas.

On the ICW whether on the gulf or Atlantic keep the red markers toward land and the green markers to sea. Works going north or south.

That can't be right for the Atlantic and I'm not 100 percent but I can remember coming down and it changed from red on right to green and I got confused. Not that that's hard to do or anything

I'm still trying to figure that out I think the family shackled her down. And she's mad cause I wouldn't wait. I was told if I stayed in hurricane area my insurance would 4500 if I go out like north to tornado area it's only 1400. I paid 75 to get 15 day window to get out. S I gotta move.

Things opened up a little. I'm hoping to catch a breeze.

Officially the AICW ends in Miami and the green to sea works all the way to N.J. Same for the Gulf ICW. Off the ICW channels should be marked; red right returning. But on the ICW in certain places it can get confusing so it's best to have charts or plotters to confirm situational awareness.

All markers on the ICW gulf or Atlantic have a small yellow square or triangle at the top to designate them as being ICW markers.

On the ICW the arbitrary head of navigation is mile O at Norfolk VA. Red is on the right from there to Brownsville TX.

David, be careful as you go under the first bridge at Panama City. Your markers will change and green will be on the right with a gold triangle signifying that it is to be considered red for the ICW. They will change again as you pass the inlet. Anyway watch it very carefully there is a horrible oyster bar behind one of the green day marks as you come into the area.

You will find a similar situation at Penscola Bay.

Where would you recommend I make my next stop

I've got 220 gal of fuel. I could put 80 in or wait a bit. I get about 1nm per gal. Any recommendations.
