Hi last week we had the boat lifted out for a quick antifoul and hull paint but we found some copper sheeting on the transom that was loose so rather than wondering what it was hiding we removed it and found a few sections of rot where the fastenings were it looked to be a quick repair but yesterday more copper was found and when it was removed it revealed quite a bit of rot so the shipwright is going to replace part of the transom and scarf in a few new plank ends
We also had a failed head outlet valve replaced with a new fibre/nylon valve and skin fitting
hopefully all will be finished by the end of the week P1000158.JPG

Yeah, I know the feeling Crashley. I'm hauling out next week to chase a couple of known seam issues - sure to find some more known unknowns and unknown unknowns.

Ah the joys of old timber boats!
