Hi, I have this pasarel in my boat, which results very heavy.

I want to explore the possibility to recover it from the transom, with the ropes, folding it vertically, as just hanging straight from the mast is not very esthetic.
Do you have any idea of design mechanism for recover with ropes or pulleys from the mast?, I mean that the pasarelle should fold when you are pulling from the mast to the rest position fixing it later with hooks
Thanks

I see what you want to do but I'm not sure you can do it without extending the length of your boom.

I recently took these pics of some steps on the side of a 50 ft Stephens on my dock. I thought it was very well done. Maybe the mechanisms shown will be a help to you.

this is very beautiful and impressive, but for side board folding.
I am frustrated, as being a retired engineer i did not find easily a solution.
I am thinking in making a wood model and play with forces and ropes...
thank you very much

Winch on mast/boom.

cable to middle of pasarelli but first it comes to a "y", then a spreader bar so it doesn't catch your head when walking through.

The 2 ends attach to the outside of mid hinge of the pasarelli.

Use winch to lift from middle, use boat hook to keep free end from swinging too much when it clears the dock, pull to half vertical position and secure.

My 2 concerns...not enough angle from boom end, and swinging weight of outer end when it clears the dock.

EZ?

Inflatable , let the air out to stow.

Not too easy to construct , but there were inflatable aircraft , which is loads harder.

Can it be secured along the back of the transom an deploy sideways to the side finger of the dock instead of deploying aft to the dock? If so, maybe a telescopic articulation can work. The main portion could be rigidly attached to the transom and the telescopic section can be pulled out like an extension ladder. pivoting at the gunwale to accommodate varying dock heights.

thanks for the ideas.
In line with Psneeld
I am working in this solution, not sure.
Points of cord attachment to both parts of the platform could be important.

Close to what I was thinking...I usually find I try a few prototypes the settle in and finalize months after using the proto and mods.

Still waiting on my welder to mod my dingy lift that is similar to this design where the boom lifts a hinged bar that raises the dingy above the swim patform.
