painting over teak

I'm getting ready to paint over some of my bright work. I had planned to varniish over the worn areas before I paint and was wondering if anyone has a reccomendation on a varnish to use in this case as a primer/sealer. I nned something with a fast build to matchup with the existing good brightwork. I have Bristol and was thinking of using it but at the price I would prefer to us something cheaper and single part.
