Inverter Grounding

I am in the last stage of my inverter installation. This inverter has a hookup for a ground wire, along with the positive/negative to the battery. The battery*(two 6v golf cart batts) are grounded to the frame of the boat, which is all aluminum. Do I need to hook up the ground wire mentioned above, or is the unit grounded by the battery's ground? Thanks.

RE: Inverter Grounding

The SOURCE of any on board electric inverter or noisemaker will need to be grounded.

The docks power hose is supposed to be grounded at its source , where the juice comes into the marina.

The hassle is the inverter must be grounded when its making juice , but NOT grounded i
when its making Batt charge power from the dock.

A relay is built into the better inverters..
