Today my wife open our ice maker to clean and surprise, smoke and almost fire. I still don't know whats happen.

There is a plate below the ice tray that heats up to help release the ice cubes. It would appear something in that circuit went bad..........These ice makers are not cheap. About $1 boat dollar ($1,000USD) for a new unit. But my drinks need ice, so.......
