Can anyone give advice in cleaning flag pole stains? Not sure if this is stainless or chrome. This flag is always out when we are underway. Thoughts?

What's the nature of the stain?
If SS Barkeepers Friend available in grocery stores is a great SS cleaner.
Follow that with a coat of wax to keep it clean. If stains are mold I've had some success w a cleaner wax.
Edit: That's Barkeepers - dang spell check does it to me again!

I think it is just from salt spray. I wipe it off each time I get back but yesterday it was worse than ever. I ran off Hilton Head island and got quite a bit of spray. Maybe near 95 degree heat is making it worse.

BTW, if you have a teak flag pole and are backed into your slip. Don't sit with the pole between your legs while you sand it, especially when two ladies are walking down the dock. If you have to do it this way, don't be sanding the ball at the top at the time.

Ask me how I know!
