Gunnel Anti Slip

Need to redo gunnels and steps with some type of anti slip. Has a type of small checker board pattern anti slip now on boat, from factory, looks to be spray or some type of fiberglass in lay. Is there some way to reproduce this pattern? Saw on Steve's Monk today that they had a rubber type mat in place of checker board, any ideas where to get something like this.

There are several non-skid mold sheets to repair an area. There are many non-skid sheet goods like Treadmaster (fisheriesupply.com sells it). If you google search, you can find many options.
