We just had new bottom paint applied, which seems necessary every 2 years. The yard applied Pettit Trinidad Pro, #1088.

Question: How soon should my diver resume the monthly cleaning?

Thank you.

I wouldn’t be in a big hurry to start paying a diver. You paid a lot of money for excellent bottom paint. The Trinidad Pro is the same as their Trinidad SR so it has the slime resistant chemical in it.

I’d wait until you see some growth. It should be several months before you see any growth.

OK, and I'm sure you understand that there is rapid growth in the warm Southwest Florida waters!

Thanks for the response.

I bet the growth in Southeast Florida is just as fast! At any rate, no point in scrubbing until there is something to scrub.

If you have a trusted diver and he’s on the dock, ask him to take a look. Your bottom maybe clean but your running gear may not be. Our running gear always seems to grow things sooner even when painted.
