Looking for recommendations*on canvas shops in the Kemah area when we move our Manatee to the coast in 2012.* We need to replace the rear cockpit enclosure.*

I got a great one in Kemah, at least about 6 years ago. Our Trawler had a new designed Bimini installed along with all new hardware. Sorry- I can't remember the name but the have their company logo sewn on a patch on the Bimini and I will get it this weekend for you.

My top recommendation would be Rodney at Boat Fashions. They represent good work with a good price=value!!!

Next would be North Canvas. They are not the cheapest but do good work.

Classic Canvas would be my other....

I have had work done by all of these and they are generally at the top of anyone's recommendations.

Thx John & Steve...we'll visit both shops & determine which gets our $$$. Do either of you know or remember a Susan Scruggs? I first conversed with her about a bimini for our Baja 6 yrs ago & then again last yr at North Canvas about the isenglass on our Sea Ray. She was always very helpful & informative but due to her location vs my boats she never got my $$$. I emailed her recently at NC but unfortunately she's no longer there.

I'm at the boat- Dockside Designs is who did ours. If you google it you will find a phone number, but I couldn't find a website.
It's amazing how shops in that area do canvas. Kemah has it going on!!

If you can get by with about 95% perfect, and save about half over what the top ones do, call The Seaman's Needle. 281-678-9925. I agree with everything JB said too, Rodney at Boat Fashions is the best, period.
