How do I access the stern-glands and stuffing boxes on my 1973 48' Classic: the shafts disappear under the transverse fuel tanks aft the engine room? (living in Gibraltar, maybe I need to train one of the Rock apes to crawl under there !!!)

The GB-48 is a different design where the aft stateroom is above the shaft stuffing boxes. Perhaps you can find an access door under the floor or bed in the aft stateroom??? Pose your question on the Grand Banks Owners forum here: Grand Banks Owner's Resources
