Hi All,

I thought I'd share photos of my new davit system. My boat is a 39' Bayliner, model 3988. The Davit System is an Olsson RS-8.

I have struggled with finding a good system for my Inmar 320R dinghy (http://www.inmarinflatables.com/v/vs...AR_320R-YS.pdf). It's 410 lbs. On the Bayliner 3870 I used to own I built my own system which I documented in another thread on another forum if you're interested: (https://www.baylinerownersclub.org/f...nd-gctid795983), but it was a pain in the butt to use. I installed the same system on the 3988, but without another guy on board to help me, it was just too much for me and the wife to handle: hence the Olsson.

This is not a cheap solution, but I hope it's the one that will be best for us. All in the cost of the davit and installation service was just under $10k. I used SunCoast Inflatables in FL for the purchase/installation. Great guys to work with.

I post this in case other owners had the same concerns that I did regarding the 3988 swim step's strength/ability to handle this kind of davit system.

Cheers!

Dave
